  • Highest-ranking Cadet in the Battalion

  • Oversees all occurrences within the Battalion

  • Is responsible for all that the Battalion does and fails to do

    • Training, administration, discipline, morale, Espirit de Corps, performance​

  • Represents the SAI

  • Must be ready to, at any time, evaluate any Cadets within the Battalion and/or the Cadet Staff

  • Ensures compliance with all Army, Cadet Command, and Brigade regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all directives from the SAI and DAI

  • Sets the example

  • Assumes command when the Battalion Commander is absent

  • Highest-ranking enlisted Cadet

  • Directs and represents all enlisted-ranking Cadets

  • Assists the Battalion Commander in all matters related to enlisted Cadets

  • Commands the Color Guard tea

  • Familiar and knowledgeable with the Drill and Ceremonies Manual

  • Responsible for maintaining and accounting for all Color Guard equipment

  • Supervise and train the school flag detail

  • Principal staff officer for all matters including human resources, personnel readiness, personnel services

  • Responsible for inputs into the JUMS system and making sure JUMS is correct and up to date

  • Prepare and publish promotion orders

  • Track and maintain the Privacy Act, health statements, and syllabus

  • Principal officer concerning matters of security, sensitive items, and equipment

  • Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of assigned weapons and sensitive items

  • Principal staff officer for all matters concerning training, operations, and planning

  • Organizes and supervises the conduct of all Cadet training

  • Input Cadets events and Cadet Challenge into JUMS

  • Prepares Memorandums of Instruction (MOIs)

  • Principal officer for all matters relating to publishing

  • Responsible for the monthly Battalion newsletter

  • Advise the Battalion Commander and SAI on ways and means to improve the presence of JROTC on campus and in the community

  • Organizes and updates the trophy case

  • Principal staff officer for all matters relating to electronics, technology, and software

  • Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of technology

  • Regularly updates the JROTC website

  • Manages and updates JROTC social media
